British Motor Racing Circuit Toilets
(apologies to Ken Clark's www.bmrc.co.uk)
If you've any more comments to add, mail me you
should probably get out more.
The season so far...
Silverstone Stowe (race licence day) - Nice toilets at Driving Centre; hours of entertainment trying to pee on dipstick for medical without a pot.
Pembrey (test day) - Only a short drive from the paddock...
STOP PRESS - 'F3 shouldn't be here. The circuit's crap, and you can't overtake.
It's a useless place altogether with no facilities. It's hard to even find a
toilet.' - Marc Hynes, Autosport, August 19 1999. (Ooh, put the rattle back in the
pram).
Harewood - Permanent toilets? At a hillclimb?
Scammonden - be thankful it was cancelled...
Castle Combe - Above average racing circuit jobs - can watch racing through disturbingly large open window next to urinals.
Curborough - Portaloos or long walk to spidery, breeze block shed. Extra points for toilet at startline. Can be a paper famine on test days.
Pestalozzi - One picture tells a thousand words...
Goodwood - Period 1950s style adds to atmosphere.
Wiscombe - Surprisingly good Portaloos on the Saturday, with all the optional extras (paper, water, etc.). Degenerated to Battle of the Somme standards by Sunday. Event organisers - the toilet paper fairy DOES NOT exist!!!
Oulton Park - New paddock ones are marvellous. Still in therapy from open air urinals that used to be around the track until last year.
Snetterton - Standard race circuit paddock ones, but only one
ladies... The secret for superior toilet facilities at Snet is to use the ones in
the cafe - thanks to Dave Williams for this one. Any more top toilet tips?
Others
Donington Park - Toblerone-shaped, spidery, breeze block sheds.
Aintree - Driver scum aren't allowed to use golf club ones...
Mallory - More breeze block sheds around the track (or there's the lake...).
Silverstone Grand Prix/Le Mans - Go for the hospitality option. Really.
